A GSA Schedule Contract is a streamlined buying process that the Government uses to buy products and services through registered vendors at pre-negotiated prices.
A GSA Contract creates a win-win scenario for businesses and the Government because it enables the Government to purchase, and businesses to sell products and services — without going through a traditional bid process. The Government buys billions of dollars worth of products and services via the GSA Schedule. It allows all parties involved to maximize opportunities, optimize resources, save time and operate more efficiently.
A schedule is a category the Government uses to define products and services. In total, there are 43 schedules. For example, there is a Schedule for all IT products and services, a Schedule for all financial products and services — and so on. Government Contract Services is familiar with all 43 schedules, and we have helped our clients get on the most commonly used Schedules hundreds of times.
The requirements vary from schedule to schedule, but in general, a company must have been in business for at least one year, and have a geographic footprint at least as large as their state. As with many things, there are exceptions. You are advised to contact us, and we will help you determine the best schedule for your business and let you know the exact requirements for your particular schedule.
This depends on a number of factors including: which level of service you select, your commercial pricing policies, and how quickly you provide necessary information. If information is provided in a timely manner, it generally takes GCS one to five weeks to submit your proposal to the Government. Once submitted, it is the GOAL of the GSA to award contracts within 120 days.
Currently two schedules (IT and Total Solutions for Security) have cooperative purchase agreements –meaning they can be used to sell to any level of government. There is legislation in the works to expand cooperative purchasing to several other GSA Schedules.
Determining the best schedule for your products or services can be a bit difficult. At GCS, we evaluate your products and services and determine the best schedule(s) for your company’s products and services. Please contact us for a free consultation.
It depends on the scope of your business. A number of our clients have been awarded multiple schedules. If your company provides a wide range of offerings, it might be necessary to have more than one.
Yes, if it is necessary for your company to have multiple schedules. Please contact us for details.
